The secluded eleven mile sandy beach with its giant
30m (100ft) high dunes has a summer seal colony and huge variety
of birdlife. Attractions include the lighthouse, shipwrecks, seals,
birds, nature reserve, ruins of 18th century fishing village and
c13th century Chapel, chain of WWII pillboxes. The generally good
weather makes this one of the driest, sunniest areas of Scotland
and we are fortunate not to be affected by the dreaded Scottish
midge.

Our home is the most easterly rural B&B on
mainland Scotland.
Please note that only the hostel is open this year, not the B&B.
"We didn't expect this little
gem in our travels.
The beach is amazing." JF Australia

Latest News:
House martins now have 3 nests around the hostel windows, the first time in at least 20 years. Some chicks have already fledged, and others can be watched without being disturbed from only a couple of feet away inside the hostel.
